Tommy Fury doubled up Jake Paul in power punches landed (49-24). However, a jab from Paul put Fury down in the 8th and final round. Despite the knockdown, Fury notched the split decision victory by outworking Paul over the entirety of the eight rounds. Paul averaged 20 punches thrown and 6 punches landed per round while Fury averaged 38 and 11 respectively.
Saudi Arabia – In a cruiserweight grudge match, Tommy Fury (9-0, 4 KOs) overcame a late knockdown to win an eight round split decision over previously unbeaten Jake Paul (6-1, 4 KOs).
The scores were 75-74 for Paul, 76-73 for Fury and 76-73 for Fury.
The fight had been scheduled on two prior occasions. In 2021, Fury withdrew with a rib injury. A year later, Fury was unable to move forward when he was denied entry into the United States.
Fury is the younger brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
