With numerous world title contests and important divisional battles up and down the card, ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham is jam-packed with unmissable action.
The pivotal event takes place this Saturday, 30th September, with Stamp Fairtex and Ham Seo Hee locking horns for the ONE interim women’s atomweight MMA world title in the main event.
Mixed martial arts will feature prominently on the lineup this weekend, so let’s break down the biggest bouts in the all-encompassing sport scheduled for ONE Fight Night 14.
Ham Seo Hee vs. Stamp Fairtex – ONE interim women’s atomweight MMA world title
As mentioned above, Saturday’s headliner will see top women’s atomweight MMA contenders Stamp Fairtex and Ham Seo Hee colliding for the division’s interim strap.
With the understandable absence of ONE atomweight MMA world champion Angela Lee over the last 10 months, the promotion’s higher-ups have sought to keep the stacked weight bracket active. And so, with “Unstoppable’s” blessing, they have introduced an interim world title and given the two most deserving competitors a chance to claim it.
Stamp’s road back to world title contention has been her most convincing run yet. The Thai megastar dismissed Jihin Radzuan over three rounds last October and stopped Alyse Anderson in a star-making performance at ONE Fight Night 10 this past May.
The perfect slate cemented her top-ranked spot and put her on a path toward her toughest challenge yet in Ham Seo Hee.
The South Korean has been untouchable in ONE since her debut in 2021. She now holds a 3-0 record in the promotion, giving her an impressive overall winning streak of nine fights.
With Lee expected to make an announcement on her fighting future this Saturday, the ramifications of this atomweight clash could be larger than anyone can fully appreciate.
John Lineker vs. Stephen Loman
In the bantamweight MMA realm, former divisional king John Lineker meets Stephen Loman to decide who sits at the top of the contender’s list in the ever-evolving division.
After falling to Fabricio Andrade when they squared off for the vacant crown this past February at ONE Fight Night 7, Lineker came back strong at ONE Fight Night 13 last month by finishing Kim Jae Woong with just four seconds left in their contest.
The victory reminded doubters just how dangerous he can be. But his upcoming foe has him in his crosshairs as he vies for a world title shot.
Loman has dispatched all foes en route to the upper echelons of the bantamweight MMA fold, amassing an impressive 11-fight winning streak along the way.
Whoever wins this Saturday will most likely earn the chance to challenge Andrade for his World Title in the coming months. And if either man can do so in dominant fashion, a clear message will be sent to “Wonder Boy.”
Mauro Cerilli vs. Paul Elliott
Elsewhere on the card, Mauro Cerilli and Paul Elliott will clash in a contest that both men need to win, and neither can afford to lose.
Cerilli has become a mainstay in ONE’s heavyweight MMA division over the course of his five-year tenure. He has faced a who’s-who of combatants, including former ONE heavyweight MMA world champions Arjan Bhullar and Brandon Vera, and scored huge knockouts over Alain Ngalani and Abdulbasir Vagabov.
But the 40-year-old has had a mixed bag of results in recent times, so he’ll be looking to get back to winning ways against Paul Elliott on Saturday.
“King of the North” will be hoping to do the same, however, as he has had an iffy start to life in ONE. After losing his promotional debut to Kang Ji Won, Elliott began to show his true potential against Martin Batur at ONE 160 in August 2022.
His deadly firepower almost got the job done, but Batur made a dramatic comeback to win on the night. That victory was later changed to a no-contest ruling after the Croatian failed a drug test.
But Elliott is still seeking that crucial first win in the growing heavyweight ranks, so he will be out in force at ONE Fight Night 14.
