It was Brazil vs. Brazil in the main event of LFA 159 as Rodolfo Bellato and Acacio dos Santos faced off for the interim light heavyweight title in Caraguatatuba, Brazil, and it was Bellato who walked away with the gold after the matchup went all the way to the judges’ scorecards.
Bellato and dos Santos went all five rounds, with the former running out the victor with scores of 49-46 on all three scorecards to claim the interim 205-pound strap.
The co-main event saw Anderson Ferreira claim a first-round TKO victory over Junior Luiz, with a big uppercut dropping Luiz early and ground and pound finishing the fight at the 3:31 mark.
There were also main card victories for Vinicius Pires and Hugo Cunha, who claimed first-round wins via rear-naked choke and ground and pound, respectively.
