The scores were 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92.
James was fighting for the first time since a TKO defeat at the hands of Radzhab Butaev in October of 2021.
Palmetta entered the ring riding a 12 fight winning streak.
The first two rounds had James boxing well and using his workrate. Palmetta was applying a lot of pressure from the start and began to force an action-fight in the third.
It was close action in the fourth. James was throwing punches in bunches when he got inside. James controlled the first two minutes of the fifth, before Palmetta rallied in the final minute. James was landing a good volume of punches during the sixth, Palmetta kept coming and throwing.
In the seventh, James was unloading on Palmetta with a lot of punches. Palmetta was able to take them and was throwing a lot back in return to force toe to toe action in the final minute. The eight saw James continued to pump out a high volume of punches with Palmetta pressuring.
It was two way action in the ninth. Palmetta was rallying with shots, before James came firing back with punches of his own. Palmetta tried this best to turned the tide in the tenth, but couldn’t do it.
