Rodriguez didn’t do much in the first, with Postol boxing well and keeping the bigger puncher at bay. The jab of Postol was the punch controlling things in the second. Rodriguez did well in the third, once he started jabbing, and rocked Postol with a hard combination.
A close fourth where both had their moments. After a give and take scenario for the first two minutes, Rodriguez broke out a series of hard shots in the fifth that had Postol on the run. Rodriguez continued to apply pressure and land hard shots in the sixth. A big right hook sent Postol down to his knees for a knockdown in the closing seconds.
In the seventh, Rodriguez unloads a series of hard shots that hurt Postol. As Rodriguez was about to unload some more, the referee stepped in to wave off the fight.
