Moloney Brothers Manager Explains How Quickly He Got Fighters To Las Vegas

Brothers Andrew and Jason Moloney have defied the odds and landed stateside in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, as the Australian pair get set to feature on Top Rank’s ESPN televised cards.

There has been speculation for weeks regarding the movements of world boxing powerhouses Top Rank in regards to their plans to put on ‘behind closed door’ events that will be showcased live on ESPN. As rumors have circulated, with many reports that these cards are set to begin next month in Las Vegas, Aussie boxing supremo Tony Tolj lived up to his reputation and created a plan to get his charges, Andrew and Jason Moloney into the United States.

Tolj opened up about the process of getting the twins into the USA. He said, “Well in honesty it was a complete nightmare, but at this point in time we have to be safety first on all fronts, so myself and the twins, alongside Top Rank all took the necessary steps to make sure that everybody’s health was in order so there were no issues on that front.

“I had to submit what felt like an eternities amount of paperwork for the team to be allowed to travel internationally. I have to thank Top Rank once more for all their help as they have been incredibly professional and helpful since Andrew and Jason signed with them.

“After flying into San Francisco, we were allowed entry into the USA, which I admit was a massive relief, and we landed in Las Vegas earlier in the week to start preparations ahead of fighting on ESPN. Since we have landed everything has gone to plan training wise.”

Dragon Fire Boxing, which is headed up by Tony Tolj is home to world class talent not only in the Oceania region but all over the world. The stable is headed up by flyweight Andrew Moloney, who currently holds the WBA world title with his bantamweight brother Jason Moloney who himself holds a top ten ranking in multiple governing bodies. Tolj divulged the plans for the twins to get in action on ESPN.

The Australian boxing supremo stated, “I’m still waiting on confirmation when the shows will begin, and I expect an announcement soon from Top Rank directly regarding that. What’s I can say is that I’m hoping we won’t have to wait too long to see the boys in action.

“Both Andrew and Jason are never out of training. They always work hard all year round, so we are really fine tuning in Vegas, the boys are ready to go and put on a show that will get the world boxing public talking about both of them.

“Of course the plan is to have both the boys box in top level contests that ESPN viewers will enjoy. All eyes will be on boxing and I’m delighted that the brothers will be apart of these events. Andrew is a proud champion so he would love to defend that title and Jason is on the hunt for a world title himself so anything that gets him closer he would be thrilled with.”

Tolj concluded by saying in regards to their experiences in getting into the country, “Some run from the fire we run through it. David Coperfield doesn’t give away his magic, you just sit back and enjoy.”
