Overtflow will get another swing at a key member of the FaZe Clan on a show where the field has narrowed in the search for a new opponent to face Hasim Rahman Jr. in the main event.
BoxingScene.com has confirmed that another influencer bout has been added to this weekend’s Misfits Boxing x DAZN: X Series show. Gamer and social media celebrity Overtflow will return to the ring for the first time in more than four years as he faces FaZe Clan owner and founder FaZe Temperrr in a sanctioned four-round cruiserweight bout this Saturday on DAZN from Moody Center on the campus of the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.
The pair of online celebrities are both listed as making their respective pro debuts but have previously appeared on the YouTube boxing circuit.
FaZe Temperrr (real name is Thomas Oliveira) is a founding member of the world’s premier gaming team that includes Lebron ‘Bronnie’ James Jr. and NFL quarterback Kyler Murray. Saturday will mark his third fight of an active 2022 campaign, though his first in a sanctioned pro bout.
The 6’4” southpaw from Los Angeles by way of Sao Paulo, Brazil outpointed London’s King Kenny (real name Kenny Ojuederie) on the undercard of the Deji-Alex Wassabi show on March 5 at Wembley Arena. Temperr then suffered a one-punch, second-round knockout to Slim Albaher on August 27, as part of the inaugural Misfits Boxing x DAZN: X Series show from The O2 in London.
Overtflow (real name PJ Brittain) has fought just once before. It came on the first-credited YouTube boxing-themed show in August 2018, where the Las Vegas-based self-defense teacher and online gamer suffered a third-round stoppage to FaZe Sensei at Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Sensei and Temperrr are both part of the famed FaZe Clan gaming crew.
The matchup is one of seven bouts featuring content creators on both sides of the bout sheet, while efforts are being made to secure a replacement opponent for Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1, 6KOs).
BoxingScene.com has learned that the leading candidates to replace an ill Vitor Belfort are former lineal heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (60-6-1, 53KOs) and former mixed martial artist NFL defensive end turned boxing heavyweight Greg Hardy (1-0, 1KO).
Briggs turns 51 in December and has not fought since 2016. Hardy is a 35-year-old southpaw who turned pro just one month ago, scoring a second-round knockout on October 8 in Delray Beach, Florida.
