Luis Feliciano-Mykquan Williams Battle Of Unbeatens Tops January 14 Show in Plant City, Florida

Luis Feliciano will hit the ground running in the new year.

BoxingScene.com has confirmed that a battle of unbeaten prospects between Feliciano and Mykquan Williams is set to headline the 2024 season premiere of ProBox TV’s Wednesday Night Fights series. The scheduled ten-round junior welterweight bout will take place on January 14 at Whitesands Events Center, ProBox headquarters in Plant City, Florida.

“Time to start the year off strong,” stated Feliciano. “Happy to be headlining ProBox TV’s first card of 2024. I’ve been working hard for this moment and we’re ready to get this victory.”

Neither boxer will be an advantage from an activity standpoint; they both only fought once in 2023.

Williams (19-0-2, 8KOs) was held to an eight-round draw versus Paulo Cesar Galdino last June as part of a Hall of Fame weekend show in Verona, New York. His prior bout came last November 22 in a ten-round win over Clarene Booth in New York City.

Feliciano returned to his Milwaukee roots for his lone bout on the year, an eight-round decision victory over Booth last April 1 on the Jorge Masvidal-promoted Roy Jones-Anthony Pettis independent Pay-Per-View event from Fiserv Forum.

The 30-year-old Puerto Rican prospect—who lives and trains in Southern California—was held to just two fights in 2022, which trailed a ring absence of more than two years due to a combination of the pandemic plus managerial and promotional issues. That part figures to get much better; Boxing Scene has learned that Feliciano signed a three-fight deal with ProBox, whose WNF events have rapidly become the most consistent series offered in the U.S.

The January 14 show will also feature fast-rising welterweight Freudis Rojas (12-0, 11KOs), who will face Cristian Baez (19-3, 17KOs) in a scheduled ten-round contest.
