Youtube star turned boxer, Logan Paul, has announced his retirement from boxing after just two professional fights.
Paul is going to place his entire focus on his WWE career.
Last weekend in Saudi Arabia, Paul captured his first title for the WWE when he defeated longtime veteran Rey Mysterio Jr.
In 2018, Paul ventured into boxing with an exhibition draw against then social media rival KSI.
A year later, both turned professional for their Los Angeles rematch – with KSI winning a close six round split decision.
Paul had his most high profile bout in 2021, in another exhibition, against five division world champion Floyd Mayweather. The fight went the full eight round distance with no winner announced.
Last month, Paul entered the ring for his second sanctioned fight – with an easy six round decision win over MMA fighter Dillon Danis.
There are plenty of options for Paul when it comes to crossover boxing fights – like a clash with Tommy Fury, who holds a win over younger brother Jake Paul.
However, Paul sees no reason to pursue further opportunities in a boxing ring. He wants to continue his rise in professional wrestling.
“I think I’m retired from boxing. I’ve done enough going fully undefeated at 25-0. I’m going to be a wrestler now. No more money in boxing, every company is going broke. Full-time wrestler. Beat Rey Mysterio. Fair and square for the US Championship,” Paul explained to Fox Business.
“It feels great. It was a dominant performance. Some frog splashes, some punches, it feels good. I have to defend this belt. There are going to be people coming after me. Seth Rollins, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes. Whoever wants it, they can come get it. Mr. Bad Bunny. Whoever wants it can come get it. I have stuff to do in WWE.”
