Legends II – UFC legends take centre stage on boxing pay-per-view – Fighters Only

Three former UFC champions will pull on the big gloves and throw hands in the two featured bouts of the night in Florida at Triller Fight Club’s latest pay-per-view offering on FITE TV.

The main event of the evening was all set to feature former UFC champion Vitor Belfort against boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya. But, after “The Golden Boy” tested positive for COVID-19 during the lead-up to the fight, he was replaced by 58-year-old former heavyweight champion of the world, Evander Holyfield.

The night’s co-main event will feature a battle between two of the most charismatic champions in UFC history, as former Anderson Silva and Tito Ortiz go head to head.

Ortiz held the UFC’s light heavyweight title from April 2000 to September 2003 in a run that made him one of the UFC’s biggest stars.

Three years after Ortiz’s title run came to a close, Silva captured the UFC middleweight title and went on one of the most spectacular championship runs in UFC history.

After dismantling then-champion Rich Franklin to win the belt, Silva ran through Dan Henderson, Patrick Cote, Thales Leites, Demian Maia, Chael Sonnen (twice), Belfort and Yushin Okami, while also picking up highlight-reel victories against James Irvin, Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar in a trio of light heavyweight finishes.

Now the pair will face off under boxing rules in a 195-pound bout, though Ortiz missed weight for the encounter, coming in a full five pounds over, at 200 pounds.

Former WBC heavyweight champion of the world David Haye will also make his return from retirement as he takes on Joe Fournier, while the pay-per-view card will kick off with a bout between Andy Vences and Jono Carroll.
