Dollefjelde, Denmark – Kem Ljungqvist Promotions ventured into this small Danish village with its big annual market for an afternoon show staged in a tent. Spring has been late to arrive in Denmark and it was one cold afternoon and while it was free entry it was even colder in the tent and that kept the crowd away.
Kem Ljungqvist himself headlined and won the vacant IBF International title when Sefer Seferi (25-4-1) didn’t come out for the fourth after being floored in both the second and third. He also had a badly busted nose and was again, as seen against the likes of Tyson Fury, too small to deal with a big heavyweight.
Ljungqvist previously held the WBC International Bridgerweight title but moved up to heavyweight again with this fight. It was a rather messy fight dominated by Ljungqvist’s reach and southpaw left.
Kem is now trained by Poul Duvil, who back in the day trained the likes of Brian Nielsen, Thomas Damgaard and other top class Danish fighters.
Lightweights Payman Akbari (7-1-2) and Mahdi Jallaw (4-1-1) drew over eight in a fight for the vacant Danish title. It was scored 77-75 both and 76-76 in a close fight but one where Jallaw seemed to have the upper hand most of the way. However, a strong last round by Akbari may have salvaged a draw for him.
Light heavyweights Andreas Lynggaard and Nick Postma (3-4-1) clashed in a ten rounder for the vacant WBFed Intercontinental title and Lynggaard (7-2) won a very close decision on scores of 98-92 twice and 99-90 but it was in real life so close it could have gone the other way in a sloppy, hard-fought battle between two fighters not prepared for the ten round distance.
Super middleweight Emil Kot turned pro and floored Kamil Zemanek (1-4) three times for a stoppage at 2.49 of the first in a scheduled four-rounder. Kot had ex-pros Mark Hulstrom and Hasan Al in his corner.
Super bantamweight Michael Nielsen (7-3) opened the show and outscored Czech Jaroslaw Hriadel (1-6) over six. Hriadel was down in the first after a left hook to the body and was close to being counted out but made it to his feet and lasted the distance as Nielsen just couldn’t find the finisher in a fast paced and one-sided fight that was scored 60-53 on all cards.
