Legacy Fight Alliance crowned two new champions in Owensboro, Kentucky on Friday night as John Sweeney and Azamat Bekoev captured titles at LFA 160.
In the night’s main event, Sweeney outpointed Allan Begosso over five rounds to claim a landslide unanimous decision victory, with scores of 50-45, 49-46, 49-46 to add his name to the promotion’s list of bantamweight champions.
Bekoev captured the interim middleweight title after a five-round war with Dylan Budka, with the Russian contender claiming the vacant title after edging the bout via split decision, with the judges’ scorecards of 48-47, 47-48, 48-47 leaning his way to give the 27-year-old from Vladikavkaz the 16th win of his career, and his second straight victory under the LFA banner.
The main card also featured a pair of first-round finishes, as Cortavious Romious scoring a first-round submission over Nathan Williams in their 150-pound catchweight bout, while heavyweight Cameron Kinzig forced Aaron Bush to retire at the end of the first round.
