Forner two division world champion David Haye is backing KSI to secure big wins against both Tommy Fury and Jake Paul.
Haye was ringside last Saturday night at the OVO Arena Wembley, as he watched his close friend, Joe Fournier, suffer a controversial second round TKO defeat at the hands of KSI.
KSI rocked Fournier, but then connected with an elbow to the jaw that knocked Fournier out. The referee missed the illegal blow and waved off the fight as Fournier was down on the mat and in serious trouble.
After the fight, Tommy Fury entered the ring and traded heated words with KSI. The back and forth verbiage would eventually lead to a brief scuffle.
At the moment, KSI’s two biggest fights are Fury and Paul.
Paul is already scheduled to return to the ring on August 5, in a showdown with MMA icon Nate Diaz.
Fury, who earlier this year pulled off an upset decision over Paul, is without a likely next opponent and has nothing scheduled on his agenda.
If the fights come together, Haye would pick KSI to beat both Fury and Paul.
“I think [KSI] knocks Tommy Fury out, real easy. Off the strength of that. And Jake Paul as well, I think he beats both of them,” Haye told Seconds Out.
“Off the strength of those first two rounds and the elbow, if he’s allowed to chuck elbows, what you going to do? Even without the elbow, the shots he was throwing were very, very crisp. Timing was right, to step back, it was just very, very classy.
“I liked it and I just think that styles that he’s doing is very unorthodox, it’s so very different to what anyone does in traditional boxing.”
