Foster: They’ve Only Seen 60 Percent Of What I Can Do, Looking Forward To Showing The World A Lot More

O’Shaquie Foster can’t see any reason to not deliver a spectacular performance this weekend.

The perfect style matchup is in store for the supremely skilled WBC junior lightweight titlist, who faces mandatory challenger Eduardo ‘Rocky’ Hernandez. The boxer versus puncher matchup will headline a DAZN show this Saturday from Poliforum Benito Juarez in Cancun, Mexico.

“I know this fight is going to show my offense and defense, my full arsenal,” Foster vowed to BoxingScene.com.

Foster fights outside of the U.S. for the second time in his past three starts and his third time through eleven years as a pro. “I’m looking forward to steadily building my fan base and showing the world the different talents that I got.

“They’ve only seen 60 percent of what I can do in the ring. I’m looking forward to showing the world a lot more of what I can do in this fight.”

The 30-year-old titlist from Orange, Texas traveled to Dubai last March in a twelve-round win over unbeaten Muhammadkhuja Yaqubov in their WBC title eliminator. A return stateside saw Foster (20-2, 11KOs) outpoint undefeated WBC featherweight titleholder Rey Vargas, who was unsuccessful in his move up on weight for their vacant WBC junior lightweight title fight.

Foster will cross the border for his next adventure, a fight that was on his radar for quite some time.

The win over Vargas showed Foster’s ability to smoothly box and conquer an awkward style. This weekend will undoubtedly answer any remaining questions about his chin. Hernandez’ last 28 wins are by knockout and he has never gone past the sixth round through more than nine years as a pro.

More importantly—at least to Foster—is the opportunity to thoroughly entertain.

“When I heard they were putting the fight there, I was like man that’s lit,” noted Foster, who has won his last eleven starts. “But, I’m still fighting in his country, even though it’s a different part of Mexico. Stuff like that raises my level of intensity.”
