The UFC Octagon returns to London this weekend with a Fight Night card featuring the nation’s next big hope for UFC gold.
Heavyweight contender Tom Aspinall appeared to be charging to the top of the UFC’s top division before a knee injury suffered in the opening moments of his bout with Curtis Blaydes one year ago halted the Brit’s momentum and left him on the sidelines.
Now Aspinall is back, and he headlines the UFC’s return to The O2 Arena, where he’ll take on Polish heavyweight mainstay Marcin Tybura in a five-round headliner.
Aspinall heads a card packed with UK and Irish talent, with 12 of the 15 fights set to feature UK or Irish fighters.
The co-main event will see Liverpool’s Molly McCann return to action as she takes on Julija Stoliarenko, while rival featherweights Nathaniel Wood and Lerone Murphy are set for main card duty, but in separate bouts. Wood takes on Andre Fili, while Murphy faces Josh Culibao.
The other two main card matchups will see Scottish light heavyweight contender Paul Craig take on 14th-ranked Andre Muniz, while former Cage Warriors lightweight champion Jai Herbert takes on Fares Ziam.
