Euro News: Kouaouch, Tamba vs. Navarro, Tom Schwarz, Murtazaliev-Culcay

Lots of action in Europe this on Saturday (Nov 25) and here’s some of the more important events:

In Charleroi, Belgium, national super welterweight champ Jan Helin (13-3) defends the title against Ibrahima Diallo (7-0-1). At stake is also the vacant WBC Youth title.

In the chief support cruiserweights Kamel Kouaouch (12-2) from Belgium and Swede-Serbian Goran Babic (7-1-2) square off for the vacant WBC Mediterranean title.

These two fights top a 12-fight show with ten amateur fights on the “undercard”.

In Fuenlabrada, Spain, EBU Silver super middleweight titleholder Gustave Tamba (18-1) defends the title against Spaniard Jose Luis Navarro Jr (9-1). Navarro, a fine prospect, takes a big step in class against Tamba and we’ll know late Saturday night if he was ready for it.

……………………………….

IBO middleweight champ Etinosa Oliha (18-0) meets Faton Vukshinaj (16-0-2) in the first defense of the title he won by beating Julio Alamos earlier this year.

In the chief support of this Agon Sports event in Riesberg (Germany) big heavyweight Granit Shala (14-0) returns to action after an injury related layoff and is in against Argentinian Jorge Alejandro Arias (13-4-2).

…………………………………..

Fides Sports stage a big show at the Verti Music Hall in Berlin where Tom Schwarz (28-1) makes his debut at bridgerweight against Christian Demaj (6-2).  Schwarz’s only loss came against Tyson Fury but there is a lack of “names” in the win column.

In other news TK Promotions in Denmark has announced that WBO Euro super middleweight champ Jakob Bank (11-0) will defend the title on February 3 in Kolding against tough Spaniard Ronny Landaeta (21-5).

Icelandic heavyweight Gunnar Kolbeinn Kristinsson (14-0) is sidelined with a broken hand and his fight against Bosnian Mirko Tintor December 2 in Vienna is off.

IBF # 1 super welter Bakhram Murtazaliev (21-0) will square off against IBF # 2 “Golden” Jack Culcay (33-4) for the now vacant IBF title and Culcay’s promoter Ingo Volckmann of Agon Sports tells BILD he is determined to get the fight to Germany. The parties have until December 29 to reach a deal.

Culcay has been waiting a long time for his chance as he beat Abass Baraou back in 2020 in an eliminator for the IBF # 2 spot. He’s gone 4-0 since then.
