The UFC heads to New York City for UFC 295 as “The Big Apple” plays host to a blockbuster show at Madison Square Garden.
The event was due to be headlined by a heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, but following a shoulder injury to the champion, that bout is off the card, and the light heavyweight title bout between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira has been promoted to the main event. The new co-main event sees top contenders Sergei Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall go head to head for the newly-instituted interim heavyweight title.
Also set for action on the card are strawweight contenders Mackenzie Dern and Jessica Andrade, while New York’s own Matt Frevola will be looking to shine in his hometown.
Ahead of the event, the UFC’s “Embedded” cameras are following the fighters behind the scenes as they work their way through fight week, as they arrive in New York and go through their pre-fight media obligations before the weigh-ins and the final faceoffs ahead of fight night.
As described on the UFC’s official YouTube channel, in Episode 1, “Jiri Prochazka returns to action. Alex Pereira enjoys a new division. Mackenzie Dern trains at home. Tom Aspinall levels up, and opponent Sergei Pavlovich reaches a goal. Don’t miss UFC 295 on Saturday, November 11.”
