Eduardo “Rocky” Hernandez (34-1) has now won six fights in a row since suffering his only career defeat.
His latest victory came on July 7th versus Hector García Montes (20-8-4). The third round knockout took place in Monterrey, Mexico on the undercard of the DAZN streamed card headlined by the Diego Pacheco-Manuel Gallegos super middleweight clash.
The 25-year-old Mexican hopes to get a big fight in his next ring appearance. He is ranked #1 by the WBC in the super featherweight division and #14 by the WBO.
“I don’t need motivation. I have my own motives. My two kids are my world and I’m doing it for them. The 130 pound division is on notice,” Hernandez told BoxingScene.com.
Hernandez’s manager Hector Fernandez de Cordova of Fercobox believes the sky is the limit for his young charge and isn’t afraid to match him against any of the divisions top names.
“This kid is unstoppable, he’s got a different setting turned on,” Hector told BoxingScene.com. “We want the Emanuel Navarrete-Oscar Valdez winner and we also want our mandatory for the WBC.
“Our promoter Matchroom has Joe Cordina so make it happen. Hector Garcia isn’t even a 130 pounder anymore but we would fight him. We want all the smoke and we want it now.”
