Heavyweight contender Derek Chisora has erupted in the wake Dillian Whyte’s most recent drug testing scandal.
Whyte was scheduled to face Anthony Joshua this coming Saturday night in London, but last Saturday he was officially pulled from the fight, after Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, revealed that there were “adverse findings” in Whyte’s drug testing protocol with VADA.
Whyte has since been replaced by Robert Helenius.
Chisora, who faced Whyte in the ring on two occasions, erupted when asked for his opinion on boxer’s most recent drug testing drama.
He believes the British Boxing Board of Control has been too lenient in several drug testing cases in recent years. Chisora would like to see harsher punishments – even for first time offenders.
“There is nothing changed, because these motherf—– can’t do the work so they have to cheat… that’s the problem. Everyone who gets caught taking drugs should get a 10 year ban – f— everybody. I don’t understand why we have to footsie around this sh!t. There’s the problem with this organization, British Board of Control… a bunch of old motherf—— in there. They need to retire and let these young guys take this over…. because, you take drugs and then you are going to beat somebody else’s kid who’s clean…. okay, catch a 10 year ban – now go be a builder motherf—–. It’s the simplest thing. It never changes because you got all of these people getting money in their pockets,” Chisora explained to Fight Hub TV.
This is the third drug testing scandal in Whyte’s career. He was banned for two years in connection to a positive drug test in 2012, and he also tested positive for a banned substance in 2019 but was ultimately cleared of those charges by UKAD.
