Bobby Green calls on rivals to show they’re ‘gangster like me’ – trio responds – Fighters Only

Bobby Green was all set to take on Dan Hooker at UFC Austin, but injury to his Kiwi opponent left him without an opponent for what was supposed to be a pivotal bout for his career.

Green was set to face Hooker in a bout that, if successful, could potentially have propelled him into the mix of contenders at 155 pounds. Instead, he’s left without a dance parter, and looking to encourage someone to sign on the dotted line to face him in Texas.

Green took to his Instagram and posted to his Story to call on someone from the 155-pound pack to step up and face him.

“Let me see who’s gangster, like me,” he said.

“I guarantee nobody steps up. Let’s find out.”

If Green was hoping his post would lead to a fighter or two breaking cover and offering to face him, he’d have been happy to see some of the names that have done just that.

Former undisputed lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos now resides in Texas, and said he’d love to fight on that card, though his caveat was that the matchup would have to be at 165 or 170 pounds.

On the other end of the experience scale, young prospect Terrance McKinney offered to face “King,” as he posted to X to share his enthusiasm for the fight.

“I’m in. UFC, what’s up,” he posted.

“(It) would be an honor to throw down with King, but every torch must be passed down.”

Another name to offer himself as a substitute opponent was Jared Gordon, who recently picked up a huge win over Mark Madsen at UFC 295. Prior to that fight, Gordon faced Green in Las Vegas in a bout that ended in a no-contest due to an accidental clash of heads that left Gordon unable to continue.

Gordon’s post to X was short and to the point, “Run it back.”
