Anthony Joshua: Tyson Fury is On My Hit List – I Want His Belt!

IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has made it clear that he certainly wants a unification clash with his division rival, WBC world champion Tyson Fury.

Fury vs. Joshua is currently the biggest fight in the sport.

Both boxers have contracted assignments against other boxers in the coming months. Their respective promoters are hoping to get their champions in the ring against each other in 2021.

Back in December, Joshua avenged the only defeat in his professional career when he dominated Andy Ruiz over twelve rounds for a unanimous decision in Saudi Arabia.

His planned mandatory defense against Kubrat Pulev was scheduled for June 20 and then later postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Fury is in the same boat, waiting for a date and location for his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder. In February, Fury stopped Wilder in seven rounds to capture the WBC world title at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Should both champions come away with their belts, they will be in position to collide next year.

“Undoubtedly the fight I want is Tyson Fury – he is holding something that I want, he’s on my hit list,” Joshua told The Sun,

“He says things about me all the time, there is so much back and forth, but Tyson Fury is only relevant the day me and him sign a contract to fight.

“He is a great person and he has done great things in boxing, but until the day we fight that is where it ends and I don’t have anything else to say about him. I really want the belt he holds and that is where I stand.”

Joshua’s win by unanimous decision in Riyadh (above) have him the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles, while Fury claimed the WBC strap after a seventh round TKO over Wilder in February.
