The UFC’s Octagon heads Down Under for UFC 293, where the city of Sydney, Australia plays host to a big pay-per-view with the middleweight title on the line in the main event.
Reigning middleweight king Israel Adesanya is making a swift turnaround from the summer to put his belt on the line after recapturing the title against Alex Pereira. And “The Last Stylebender” will look to register the first title defense of his second reign with victory over Sean Strickland.
The co-main event pits two fringe heavyweight contenders head to head as Australia’s own Tai Tuivasa looks to bounce back with another crowd-pleasing knockout when he faces longtime contender and former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov.
The main card also features explosive flyweight knockout artist Manel Kape, while heavyweight hard-hitter Justin Tafa and Australian Tyson Pedro are also set for action.
Ahead of the event, the UFC’s “Embedded” cameras are following the fighters behind the scenes as they work their way through fight week, as they arrive in Sydney and go through their pre-fight media obligations before the weigh-ins and the final faceoffs ahead of fight night.
As described on the UFC’s official YouTube channel, in Episode 2, “Sean Strickland adjusts to Australia, Tyson Pedro bowls. Tai Tuivasa and Felipe Dos Santos train on opposite sides of the world. Manel Kape drives in style. Champ Israel Adesanya and his City Kickboxing teammates prepare for a big night.”
