The fighters took to the scale in Chicago ahead of Friday night’s Bellator 297 event, and all eyes were on the promotion’s featherweight champion as he looked to make bantamweight for the first time.
Patricio Pitbull is bidding to capture a Bellator title in a third different weight class when he takes on bantamweight champion Sergio Pettis in the co-main event, and the Brazilian made championship weight with room to spare, coming in at 134.2 pounds for the matchup. Champion Pettis had even more to spare, arriving on the scale at 134 pounds.
The main event light heavyweight title fight between champion Vadim Nemkov was also confirmed, with Nemkov coming in comfortably under the light heavyweight limit, at 203.8 pounds, while Romero used every ounce allowable to hit 205 pounds on the dot and make his title challenge official.
All 30 fighters made weight for the event, meaning the event will go ahead with the full 15-fight lineup.
