Kolding, Denmark – TK Promotions put on a six-fight show at the sold-out Forum with super middle Jacob Bank headlining in a defense of the WBO European title against aging (close to 41) Spaniard Ronny Landaeta (21-6).
It was one way traffic all the way as the speedy and hard punching hometown hero dominated the fight all the way. Landaeta went down in the sixth and was floored again in the seventh. He was allowed to continue and looked like he could do so but soon sat down, took the eight count, and then retired himself. It was a wise move. He had nothing left. Bank 22 years old and 12-0, looks like a genuine prospect.
The official time was 1.28 and it was ruled as a knockout.
Super lightweight prospect Elias Idrissi (2-0) showed a lot of flashy moves and won every round against Pole Jakub Laskowski (4-28-1) but could never hurt his opponent. It was scored 40-36 on all cards.
Super welter Victor Hoveling (3-0) stopped Mikolay Rabczak (2-2) from Poland at 1.52 of the second. Rabczak was floored earlier in the round and was under heavy pressure when it was called off.
Heavyweight Morten Givskov (1-0) made his pro debut and knocked out Pole Pawel Sowik (3-14) at the end of the second round. Givskov was a very good amateur but then took a break from boxing but is now back and has signed with TK.
Unbeaten featherweights Nesar Kunduzi (3-0-1) and Leotrim Rexhepi (3-0-1) from Kosovo battled to a draw after wild rounds. What saved the day for the Dane was a dubious knockdown in the third that was more of a slip. The judges had it 38-37 both ways and 38-38.
In the show opener super featherweight Mikkel Gribsholt (4-0) again impressed as he stopped Englishman Jak Jones (record unknown) in the second. Gribsholt jabbed well and then landed with an overhand right that stunned Jones, who then took a knee, and the towel came in with the fight ending at 2.40, Jones have reportedly fought on what are called “unlicensed shows” in the UK.
