Promoter Eddie Hearn believes heavyweight contender Daniel Dubois could see his career come to an end if he loses the upcoming contender with Jarrell Miller.
Dubois’ fight with Miller will take place on the big fight night, on December 23 in Saudi Arabia, with Anthohy Joshua facing Otto Wallin and Deontay Wilder colliding with Joseph Parker.
For Dubois the contest is a must-win encounter.
The British puncher is coming off a ninth round knockout loss to unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.
Prior to that contest, Dubois was dropped three times before he rallied to knock Kevin Lerena out in the third round.
Miller is a big heavyweight and also packs a big punch, which makes their contest very intriguing.
If Miller’s chin is able to hold up, he might wear Dubois down as the fight plays out, says Hearn.
“I think it’s a very tough fight. I mean if Jarrell Miller’s got a good chin it’s a very tough fight for Daniel Dubois, because I feel like Jarrell puts a lot of pressure on, he’s got a good engine, I think he’ll try and wear Dubois down but he’s gonna have to come through some heavy artillery on the way,” Hearn told Boxing Social.
“I think if Daniel Dubois loses his career might be over. I would’ve liked to see him brought back with a couple of wins, because I think he’s a really good fighter. Against Usyk, he did well. He didn’t win many rounds, but the low blow controversy etcetera. So we’ll see, but I think it’s a very tough fight Dubois and if he loses he’s not in a great position at all.”
