Brave CF’s flyweight title curse continues as Brave CF 78 gets another shake-up – Fighters Only

Brave CF returns to Brazil on December 7, in association with Victorious, but will not be crowning its first flyweight champion after another injury halted the company’s plans.

The Brave CF Flyweight title curse is real. After yet another injury, the organization will not be crowning its first-ever 125-pound champion in Brazil after all after Flavio Queiroz, who was supposed to face Edilceu Alves for the title, has fallen ill and is out of the fight.

It is the 11th time the company is forced to deal with last-minute changes related to the inaugural flyweight belt, which will continue to have no owner in the near future.

Alves now takes on newcomer Marciano Ferreira in a non-title bout, while the super lightweight duel between former world champion Luan Santiago and top contender Joilton Lutterbach is the new main event of Brave CF 78.

The event, which takes place December 7, in association with Victorious Fight and Entertainment, is the return of the most global MMA organization to its second home in Brazil.

For the first time, Brave Combat Federation will land in Fortaleza, in the north-east of the country, as Brazil become the first country to host Brave CF shows in three different cities (Curitiba and Belo Horizonte being the others).

The full fight card for Brave CF 78 has also been released with the return of super welterweight hard-hitter Luiz Cado taking on Vernon Ramos, in a bout that was supposed to take place in Colombia at Brave CF 73.

The main card is rounded up with the debuts of Brazilian standouts Arlen “Benks” Ribeiro and Marcelo Marques, who take on Yabna Ferreira Ntchala and Manuel Mena, respectively.

Curiously enough, Ntchala will become the first fighter from Guinea-Bissau to feature in Brave CF, while Mena will be the first male Venezuelan athlete, after Yasmeli Araque.

The Victorious portion of the fight card features two huge matchups, the first at lightweight between Junior Melo and Danilo Santos and a Brazil vs. Argentina clash as Ricardo de Almeida takes on Roberto Benitez in a 68-kilogram catchweight bout.

Brave CF 78: Victorious takes place at the Centro de Formaçao Olimpica stadium in Fortaleza, the capital of Ceara state in Brazil. It is Brave CF’s fifth overall Brazilian show, and the first in four years, as the organization renews its commitment to the booming Brazilian MMA scene, which has produced five world champions in Brave CF history, as well as more than 90 fighters signed in seven years.
