It pays well to be a top attraction in boxing.
Sports media publication Sportico released its “100 Highest-Paid Athletes in the World” list this week, and six fighters are featured on the list.
Canelo Alvarez was the highest-ranked boxer on the list at No. 17 with a total of $66 million in earnings across the calendar year of 2023.
Anthony Joshua was ranked No. 24 with $55 million, followed by Jake Paul at No. 37 with $47 million, Gervonta Davis at No. 54 with $42.5 million, Ryan Garcia at No. 58 with $40.5 million and Tyson Fury at No. 64 with $40 million.
The figures factored both the fighter’s purses and their endorsement deals. Investment income was not included.
Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo topped the list at $275 million.
