Featherweight Rigoberto Hermosillo (13-4-1, 9 KOs), from Los Angeles, CA is ready to battle Alexis De Luna (10-1, 5 KOs) from Bakersfield, CA. The 8-round bout will headline Camponovo Sports “New Blood” boxing series taking place at Infinite Reality Studios in Long Beach, California, on Saturday, September 9, 2023.
In the 8-round co-main event, Long Beach’s undefeated super lightweight, Emiliano Moreno (6-0, 4 KOs), will face off against Guadalajara, Mexico’s Levy Garcia Benitez (3-0-1, 2 KOs).
“New Blood” will broadcast live on FOX Deportes, and air on tape delay on Estrella TV and beIN SPORTS.
Here is what Hermosillo had to say about his recent training camp, his matchup with De Luna, fighting in the main event of a new boxing series, and more.
On his recent training camp:
“I had a good amount of time to get ready for this fight, so my training camp was very productive. I worked on a lot of footwork drills and sitting on my punches more. My trainer Eddie Gonzalez has me in tremendous shape.
On his matchup with Alexis De Luna:
“De Luna is a young hungry fighter who is looking to make a name for himself. His only loss was a split decision so he could easily be undefeated. I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I know will be a problem for him. I feel my experience will be the key to victory.”
On fighting in main event live on FOX Deportes:
“I can’t wait to fight on FOX Deportes, its something I’ve been looking forward to since the fight was announced. I’m going to take full advantage of the opportunity and bring the fight to my opponent. This fight will be an all out Mexican war.”
