Kholmatov scored a wide unanimous decision with scorecards of 119-109, 119-109 and 118-108 thanks to an excellent boxing style he imposed all the way through.
It was a clash of two fighters with great projection and that was predicted to be a very close fight in which the small details would decide the winner.
However, Kholmatov blew all that away and dominated the fight at long distance, prevented Grigorian from luring him into exchanges and nullified him to take an easy win in the ring.
Although his opponent tried to turn the tide in the final rounds, Kholmatov was able to handle the situation and clinch the fight that was already secured on the scorecards.
The winner’s record stands at 10 wins, no losses and 9 knockouts, while Grigorian’s pro tally now stands at 14 wins, 1 loss and 3 knockouts.
Also on the card, super middleweight Yamaguchi Falcao (21-1, 9 KOs) boxed his way to a ten round unanimous decision over Damian Bonelli (24-11, 20 KOs). The scores were 92-98, 93-97 and 91-99.
Unbeaten super welterweight Anthony Velazquez (11-0, 10 KOs) stopped Sergio Samuel Castellano (11-9, 7 KOs) in two rounds.
Welterweight Jeovanny Estela (7-0, 2 KOs) overcame Roque A. Junco (10-10-1, 6 KOs) in five rounds, after Junco was disqualified for fouls.
