York Hall, London – Junior welterweight prospect Harlem Eubank (17-0, 6 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over late-replacement Miguel Antin (20-12-1, 8 KOs).
The scores were 99-89, 98-90 and 97-91.
After a feeling out round in the first, Eubank began to really let his hands go in the second. Eubank was too fast with his hands and his feet. He was also more than capable of blocking Antin’s wild punches. Eubank would hold Antin when he charged in too fast.
There was plenty of roughhousing between the two, with the referee warning both boxers several times.
During the fourth round, Antin seemed to buzz Eubank with a series of hard shots. Eubank held on to weather the storm. Eubank went right back to boxing in the fifth, but Antin was pressing and trying to force him into a brawl. Antin managed to connect several times, but also tired pretty fast after throwing combinations. Eubank’s shots to the body were having an effect.
During the sixth, it was Eubank pushing Antin back and working him over with punches against the ropes. Antin looked winded and was getting tagged with punches. Near the end of the round, Antin went down from a body shot. In the seventh round, Eubank pressed Antin against the ropes and scored a second knockdown with a series of punches to the body. Antin managed to recover, but continued to take more punches from Eubank as the round played out.
Eubank continued to use movement to frustrate Antin during the eighth and ninth. Antin looked exhausted, but still did his best to push forward. In the tenth and final round, Antin came our firing. He was unable to land much and then Eubank began to work him over for a moment. They were trading punches in the final minute, with both connecting.
In the co-feature, massive heavyweight Matty Harris (5-0, 4 KOs) need less than a minute to demolish Milos Veletic (2-3). Harris landed two big shots with Veletic hitting the floor and failing to beat the count of ten.
Junior middleweight Abass Baraou (13-1, 9 KOs) picked up his fourth win in a row with a three round stoppage of Ferenc Katona (11-10), who had his corner throw in the towel to prevent him from taking further damage.
Super featherweight Sophie Alisch (9-0, 1 KO) picked up a six round decision win over veteran Gemma Ruegg (6-7).
