The always well informed BILD in Germany writes that the newly reinstated WBA “regular” heavyweight champion of the world Mahmoud Charr’s mandatory defense of the title against Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller (26-0-1) will go ahead in Nigeria before October 14, with the exact site and date to be announced.
According to BILD the negotiations are at an advanced stage.

Purse bids for Franck Petitjean’s defense of the EBU super lightweight title against Dane Enoch Poulsen was supposed to go ahead today but were this morning moved to September 12.
Petitjean vs Poulsen, the rematch, has been postponed a number of times now.

Former Spanish welter champ Carmelo Garcia has passed away at the age of 83. Garcia turned pro in 1960 and won and lost the national title a number of times during his career. He challenged for the EBU title in 1965 and was favored to win but lost to Italian Fortunato Manca. Garcia retired in 1968 with 35-9-2.

Italian cruiserweight Fabio Turchi (21-3) is back in action on September 22 in Viareggio where is he in against Georgian Levani Lukhutashvili (10-16).
Turchi lost a decision to Floyd Masson in Australia in a fight for the IBO title last time out.

IBF Intercontinental jr middleweight champ Haro Matevosyan (17-0) makes the fifth defense of the title October 7 in Falkensee (Germany). Opponent is Italian Mirko Natalizi (13-0). Matevosyan is ranked # 5 by the IBF.
The show in Falkensee is a joint venture between Agon Sports and Kuc Boxing Promotion.
