Biaggio Ali Walsh will return to action on April 7th against Isaiah Pacheco. The PFL card takes place at The Theater at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 24-year-old still competes as an amateur, with first fight taking place last year.
“We have a guy from Flagstaff Arizona. He is 1-1 and I am 2-1 about to be 3-1 so it should be good. I can’t wait to get to work,” said Ali Walsh.
He is of course the grandson of the legendary Muhammad Ali and is the brother of Nico Ali Walsh. Nico is an 8-0 super middleweight prospect who fights under the Top Rank banner.
“I am originally from Chicago and I moved to Las Vegas when I was 6 years old,” Biaggio told BoxingScene.com, while explaining his upbringing. “We both played sports growing up here in Las Vegas. I played football at Bishop Gorman High School. We had a super successful run there. We were 3-time national champions. We never lost a game.
“I then played football at Cal Berkley for a couple seasons and then came back home to play at UNLV and I didn’t really know what to do with my life. So I started training here at Xtreme Couture and eventually I just kind of fell in love with it and I told myself that you only live one life and I don’t want to regret anything when I am older so I decided to make the most of it and I feel so much better now that I have decided to do it.”
The Professional Fighter’s league has given Ali Walsh the opportunity to grow in the sport while also building a fan base on a big platform. He is very thankful for the opportunity and looks to continue to raise his profile.
When asked why he decides to train in MMA and not follow in his grandfather and brother’s footsteps, he explained that he liked having multiple ways to beat people up.
“I am super excited for the PFL to give me this opportunity. I had three fights last year and hope to build on that this year. I decided on MMA because you can take dudes down. You can ground and pound them, kick them in the head, kick them in the legs, submit them,” Ali Walsh stated.
“A lot of guys really want to go after us just because of who me and my brother are related to. People are either going to go too hard or talk trash and want to prove something and say they beat Muhammad Ali’s grandson. I don’t care. I just want to fight the best version of somebody. Bring all you got and I am going to take it.”
